Specialties

- Addressing envelopes
- Teaching adults
- Presenting informational lectures or demos

A Client-Focused Philosophy

- I especially enjoy working with cost-conscious clients on smaller projects (100 or so   envelopes).
- I am happy to hand-mix inks to achieve the client's desired color (see below).
- While I can advise clients on "proper etiquette," I am happy to deviate from tradition if   the client desires.
- I treat each envelope as a unique work of art that guests will want to treasure.
- When teaching or giving a demo, I focus on the audience's interests and try to get them   writing as soon as possible.

For this project, I worked with the bride to create a shade of iridescent copper ink that matched her invitations perfectly. For more examples of my work, visit www.anomaly.org/debbie/calligraphy

My Background

"I have been studying calligraphy and teaching adults for roughly 20 years. Currently I focus on a kind of calligraphy called Copperplate. In addition to extensive self-study, I have studied under Terry Hausner, Karla Hamilton, Sherry Good, and Eleanor Winters. I also continue to learn from the many Houston Calligraphy Guild members who share their time and talent at every monthly meeting."
