Specialties: Jo Guffey is an artist and calligrapher who works with oil, watercolor, and acrylic paints, and many kinds of pens and inks. She loves to do custom designs, taking an idea from a client to a satisfactory one-of-a-kind completion. She also loves to incorporate different kinds of art and lettering into her designs, especially cards and books. Her formal education began with a study of art at Louisiana Tech University and then University of Houston, studying with many private art teachers early in her career, and studying in many classes and workshops in calligraphy and art for the last twenty years. Jo considers herself more self-taught, however, as she likes to experiment on her own and try out new techniques not learned in a classroom. Her former business, Art Dimensions, led her into many different aspects of art including wall murals, wearable art, banners, advertising flyers, lettering for wedding and party invitations, bible inscriptions and baptism certificates, book illustration and lettering, cookbooks, lettering quotes and poems, scrapbook designs and lettering, outdoor signs, auto detailing, and of course her own oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings.
